GNOME Mutter 51 and GNOME Shell 51 beta versions have been released with several notable improvements. Mutter 51 adds Wayland ext-background-effect-v1 blur support enabling background blur effects in terminals and other apps, adopts the upstream xdg_session_management_v1 protocol, and includes multiple frame scheduling improvements by Michel Dänzer.
