Testing on the GitLab CE repo revealed a bug: when unpacking a bundle, Git only copies refs/heads references into refs/bundle, ignoring tags and remote refs. This causes Git to re-download objects it already has during the subsequent fetch negotiation. A patch fixing this was submitted to the Git mailing list and later incorporated into Git 2.50.
