Google is expanding its Gemini integration in Chrome to India, Canada, and New Zealand. The rollout brings a sidebar-based AI assistant to desktop Chrome, allowing users to ask questions about on-screen content, summarize pages, compare tabs, and connect with Google apps like Gmail, Maps, Calendar, and YouTube for contextual answers. In India, Gemini will support multiple regional languages including Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu, and Tamil. Chrome for iOS in India will also receive Gemini support via the address bar. Advanced agentic capabilities that can autonomously complete browser tasks remain limited to U.S.-based AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers for now.
