GitHub has deprecated GPT-4.1 across all GitHub Copilot experiences — including Copilot Chat, inline edits, ask and agent modes, and code completions — effective June 1, 2026. The suggested replacement model is GPT-5.5. Copilot Enterprise administrators may need to manually enable the alternative model through their Copilot model policies. No action is required to remove the deprecated model.
