The facilities would require approximately 170MW of power capacity, making it one of South Africa's largest proposed data centre projects — comparable to nearly all of Teraco's 189MW installed critical capacity across Africa. Opposing groups, including Housing Assembly and Foxglove, argued insufficient environmental information was disclosed and are considering an appeal. Equinix has confirmed land purchase but has not yet submitted a site development plan. ## Full article daily.dev links to this article rather than hosting it.
