That's a wild split. Normally special editions pull in something like 10-20% of preorders, tops. Getting nearly nine out of ten buyers to pay the premium is not normal behavior. Sensor Tower's Karl Kontus chalks this up to two things: the price gap is small relative to what you get, and the hype around this game is basically unprecedented. His guess is that the split evens out closer to 50/50 by launch, once casual buyers who care more about price start showing up. Early adopters skew toward people who'll pay whatever for the full package; the mainstream crowd is pickier. Current preorders sit around 4.3 million, with some projections floating numbers as high as 25-40 million by launch.
