By leveraging NVIDIA's GSP firmware, which handles most of the complex HDMI FRL work, the implementation avoids the licensing issues that have blocked AMDGPU from supporting HDMI 2.1. The four-patch series enables higher refresh rates and resolutions for HDMI-connected displays and has been tested on an Ampere GPU with an HDMI 2.1 capture card. Claude Code was used to help resolve ordering issues and align with NVIDIA programming sequences.
