Helping businesses optimize network costs with the Visa Digital Commerce Authentication Program (DCAP)

Visa launched the Digital Commerce Authentication Program (DCAP), rewarding US businesses with a 5 basis point interchange reduction for sharing richer transaction data during card-not-present authentication. Stripe responded by integrating DCAP support into its Authorization Boost product, using transaction-level intelligence to selectively apply Data Only 3DS — balancing cost savings against conversion and authorization rate risks. Since April 18, Stripe has helped businesses capture $18.4 million in annualized network cost savings and achieved an 8x increase in DCAP-eligible transactions. Businesses using Authorization Boost with required data fields are automatically enrolled; standalone 3DS users can opt in via a specific API parameter.
