# How AI Exposed a Browser Security Gap that Enterprises Cannot Ignore

**[BleepingComputer](https://daily.dev/sources/bleepingcomputer)** · 6 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

AI adoption has accelerated awareness of a long-standing enterprise security gap: sensitive data moving through browsers without adequate controls. Traditional endpoint and network security tools were not designed to govern browser-based interactions like copy-paste, file uploads, or AI prompt submissions. Approaches like secure browsers, VDI, and remote browser isolation exist but carry deployment complexity. A newer model applies inline security controls to existing browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox) without replacing them, governing data movement in real time across managed and unmanaged devices. Skyhigh Security's Secure Browser Controls product is presented as an example of this approach, enabling policy enforcement on AI prompts, uploads, downloads, and other browser actions.
