AWS DevOps Agent uses a multi-agent architecture to tackle confirmation bias in incident investigations. It builds a living topology graph of infrastructure relationships, then runs four specialized capabilities: Triage (fast signal correlation), Investigation (parallel hypothesis generation with counter-evidence validation), Mitigation (safe, human-approved remediation plans), and Prevention (cross-incident pattern analysis). The Investigation engine simultaneously tests multiple root-cause theories against supporting and counter-evidence rather than committing to the first plausible explanation. Mitigation plans are generated but never auto-executed — humans retain control over applying fixes. Over time, the Prevention capability clusters past incidents to surface systemic patterns and proactive recommendations, creating an operational flywheel that reduces both incident frequency and resolution time.
