Countries worldwide are building national AI capabilities using domestic infrastructure, local datasets, and homegrown talent to ensure AI solutions align with local languages, cultures, and regulations. A national AI strategy requires five key ingredients: an AI imperative, an AI-ready workforce, locally trained models and data, a local AI ecosystem, and AI factories (next-generation data centers). NVIDIA's AI Nations initiative has supported this since 2019, with real-world examples including France automating public-service workflows, India's Sarvam platform delivering multilingual AI for 22 official languages, and Brazil's Widelabs modernizing legal services for millions of citizens.
