# How to allow Clients to spawn objects in Multiplayer?

**[Code Monkey](https://daily.dev/sources/codemonkeyunity)** · 1 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

In Unity's Netcode for GameObjects, only the server has authority to spawn objects by default. To allow clients to spawn objects (e.g., bullets or actions), you use an RPC (Remote Procedure Call) to send a message from the client to the server, which then spawns the object and synchronizes it across the network to all clients.

## Questions this post answers

### Why do I get an error when a client tries to spawn an object in Unity Netcode for GameObjects?

Only the server has authority to spawn networked objects by default in Netcode for GameObjects, so a client attempting to spawn an object directly triggers an error. To let a client cause a spawn, such as firing a bullet, the client should send a remote procedure call (RPC) to the server, which then spawns the object and synchronizes it to all clients.
