The perspective of already having ascended the foothills often doesn’t help much. The trick is to only now and then look at the mountain to stay on course, and most of the time look at your feet and just take things one step at a time. Learn by doing every day, or even every other day, and after 10 years you end up being someone others look up to as an expert. Put differently, climbing one flight of stairs every day for ten years is just as much climbing as getting to the top of mount Everest. Just keep moving and try to have fun.\nAnother trap I’ve seen people fall into is not learning by doing. You can read blogs and watch videos for years and still not have picked up many expert skills. The brain only really picks up a skill by doing the thing. It is better to watch just one or two tutorials and then try some things, even if those attempts are embarrassing, then to watch dozens of tutorials before taking a first stab.
