Rayfin (also referred to as Rafen/Raven in the transcript) is a new managed backend-as-a-service offering within Microsoft Fabric, designed to simplify building data-powered applications. It bundles frontend hosting, database connectivity (backed by Fabric SQL Database), authentication, and authorization into a single platform with a code-first TypeScript SDK using a decorator model. Developers can scaffold apps via CLI or npm, use GitHub Copilot to generate and deploy code, and avoid manually wiring together CDN, APIs, and databases. The feature is entering public preview and requires enabling Fabric Apps in tenant admin settings.
