Using an ATtiny85 microcontroller (chosen for its ultra-low power draw compatible with the light's capacitor-drop power supply), a 2N3904 transistor, voltage regulator, and a handful of passive components, the board simulates button presses on boot. The PCB was designed in EasyEDA, manufactured by JLCPCB, and programmed via a Raspberry Pi's GPIO pins using avrdude. The finished board is integrated with Home Assistant so the light automatically dims to the preferred level when the owner goes to bed.
