I ditched Ubuntu after ten years on it, and only regret not doing it sooner

After over a decade of using Ubuntu, the author switched to MX Linux due to growing frustrations: rising hardware requirements (4GB minimum for 24.04, 6GB planned for v26), Snap packages being forced as defaults causing slower launches and higher storage use, and GNOME's minimalist design requiring extensions for basic functionality. MX Linux was chosen for its multiple desktop editions including low-spec options, KDE support, and Debian-based stability.
