# I stopped installing optimization apps after discovering these built-in Windows tools

## Summary

Third-party PC optimization apps are unnecessary because Windows already includes all the tools needed to keep a system clean and fast. The built-in options covered include the Disk Optimizer/Defragmenter (runs automatically), Task Manager's Startup Apps tab, Task Scheduler for hidden startup and scheduled tasks, Disk Cleanup and Storage Sense for temporary files, and PowerShell scripts for finding duplicate files. Registry cleaners are also called out as unnecessary and potentially harmful.
