Shares fell as much as 17% in premarket trading. Software revenue rose 5% with Red Hat up 11%, but both missed forecasts. Consulting was flat and infrastructure revenue dropped 7% as clients pulled back on mainframe and storage purchases ahead of anticipated tariff-related price increases. Adjusted EPS and gross margins also came in below expectations. The one positive was AI: cumulative AI bookings surpassed $12 billion, reflecting continued enterprise demand.
