# Improving Windows Search Box, with less clutter and more control

## Summary

Microsoft is rolling out several improvements to the Windows Search Box for Windows Insiders in the Experimental channel. Key changes include a simplified home screen with less visual clutter, clearer result source labels, removal of promotional content from web results, and a new setting to control whether web and Microsoft Store suggestions appear. Local results are now prioritized more reliably, app search is more typo-tolerant, settings and file search ranking has been improved, and overall reliability has been increased.
