# Initial upstream support for the Rockchip RK3576

**[Collabora Blog](https://daily.dev/sources/collabora)** · 3 min read · 0 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

Initial upstream Linux kernel support for Rockchip's RK3576 SoC has landed in the 6.12 LTS kernel, driven by Collabora engineer Detlev Casanova with hardware provided by ArmSom. Features merged into 6.12 include the clock/reset controller (CRU), power domain handling, eMMC/SD/SDIO storage, network support, I2C, SPI, analog inputs, watchdog, pin multiplexing, and GPU support. UART device tree bindings and GPIO support missed the 6.12 cutoff and will arrive in 6.13, along with the full device tree for the RK3576 and ArmSom Sige5 board. Remaining work in progress includes OTP memory, USB, PCIe, and HDMI support. The upstreaming process was notably faster than previous Rockchip generations due to shared components with the RK3588.

### What RK3576 features are still missing from mainline Linux and when will they land?

As of the 6.12 LTS release, UART device tree bindings and GPIO support are deferred to kernel 6.13, along with the full device tree for the RK3576 and ArmSom Sige5. OTP memory, USB, PCIe, and HDMI support are work-in-progress and expected to land soon after. The current status is tracked in the RK3576 Kernel Status Matrix on Collabora's GitLab.
