The Computing Community Consortium (CCC) launched its first Call for Innovative Research Visions (CIRV) and highlights three selected projects. The first, Computational Animal Communication, uses self-supervised learning and multimodal foundation models to decode animal vocalizations, potentially establishing a new interdisciplinary field. The second, Punishing Agents, explores trust and compliance mechanisms in multi-agent systems, noting that reputation may be more effective than rewards or punishments. The third, Emerging Technologies: Digital Accessibility, proposes embedding accessibility into system architectures, data models, and development frameworks from the ground up, with a focus on multimodal interaction and language inclusion.
