Intel's Compute Runtime 26.22.38646.4 has been released, promoting Nova Lake (Xe3P) GPU support to 'early support' status with OpenCL 3.0 and Level Zero 1.15 advertised. Key additions include OpenCL buffer pool for Nova Lake S, kernel compilation handling for Nova Lake P, Ultra Low Latency Scheduling (ULLS), and various performance improvements. The headline new feature is LEO (Level Zero Executing OpenCL), an experimental project that re-implements the entire OpenCL API on top of Level Zero. The goal is to eventually consolidate two separate driver stacks into one, reducing maintenance burden, improving test coverage, and unlocking Level Zero performance gains. LEO is not yet production-ready and lacks full OpenCL extension support.
