3D character artist Clara Lollo shares her workflow for a personal Lovecraftian reinterpretation of BioShock's Big Daddy. The project covers the full pipeline: blocking primary volumes in Maya, hard-surface modeling with ZModeler and boolean operations, high-poly sculpting and PolyPaint in ZBrush, retopology in Topogun3, UV unwrapping in RizomUV, layered texturing with wear and storytelling in Substance 3D Painter, and final cinematic rendering with a three-point lighting setup in Marmoset Toolbag 5. Key techniques include using anchor points and smart masks for material consistency, iridescence maps for corroded metals, and post-processing in After Effects with Film Convert. The complete low-poly model and textures are available for free on Gumroad.
