Introducing Agent Skills in VS Code

Agent Skills is a new VS Code feature that enables AI agents to load specialized instructions, scripts, and resources on demand for domain-specific tasks. Skills are stored as folders containing a skill.md file and optional resources, defined with metadata about when to trigger. They support progressive loading, bringing automation and context-aware workflows to tasks like documentation writing, image manipulation, and web testing. The open standard makes skills portable across compatible agents including GitHub Copilot.
