Casuarina Linux is a new experimental Linux distribution derived from Chimera Linux, replacing musl with glibc to maintain binary compatibility with the broader GNU/Linux ecosystem. It uses the LLVM toolchain, Dinit init system, FreeBSD-derived core utilities, and the apk package manager. Currently supporting x86_64, it was bootstrapped from source using Chimera's cbuild tool in an isolated sandbox, with package builds automated via Buildbot. The author created it after finding musl-based Chimera Linux limiting for daily desktop use, particularly for work. An initial ISO is available for download, and the project is hosted on Codeberg.
