Databricks is launching Genie One, a data-smart AI coworker for business users, along with Genie Agents and Genie Ontology. Genie One integrates natively into Slack, Microsoft Teams, and mobile apps (iOS/Android), letting users ask natural language questions grounded in enterprise data. Genie Agents replace the previous Genie Spaces, enabling domain experts to create curated AI agents from a single prompt. Genie Ontology is an automatic context layer that extracts and organizes knowledge from tables, queries, dashboards, and pipelines into a living graph, using a PageRank-like authority model to determine trusted sources. Internal benchmarks show Genie answered 84.5% of enterprise data questions correctly on the first attempt versus 52.4% for the strongest general-purpose coding agent, while also being 2× faster. Governance is enforced via Unity Catalog and Unity AI Gateway.
