The new ping monitoring checks server reachability at the network level with configurable packet count, size, and acceptable packet loss. TCP port monitoring verifies that specific services are listening on designated ports, with support for checking welcome messages and custom request/response validation. The update also includes a breaking API change (renaming the Site model to Monitor), customizable check frequencies, notification logging, passkey login, Google Chat notifications, and a rebuilt PHP SDK among other improvements.
