Quarkus Data is a new umbrella project for data access in Quarkus, replacing the fragmented landscape of Hibernate, Hibernate Reactive, and Panache extensions with a single entry point. The first module, Quarkus Data Hibernate, builds on Jakarta Data (a top-level Jakarta EE 11 specification) to provide repositories, richer entities, stateless/managed sessions, reactive support, and raw SQL queries. The repository pattern is backed by an annotation processor that generates implementations at compile time with full type checking. Panache 1 remains available for existing apps, but all new development is focused on Quarkus Data Hibernate, available from Quarkus 3.37.0 and shipping with Quarkus 4.0.
