It evaluates 40+ proprietary and open-source voice models across 15+ dimensions and 60+ metrics covering ASR, TTS, Speech-to-Speech, and Speech Understanding. Built on over 1 million human ratings, key findings include: voice AI progress is becoming specialized with no single best model, models are better at speaking than listening (often missing paralinguistic cues like tone and hesitation), traditional benchmarks overestimate real-world performance, and human evaluation remains essential as automated SLM-based evaluation falls short on subjective tasks.
