Elastic introduces the distribution of the OpenTelemetry Java Agent, enhancing the vanilla OTel Java agent with additional features. It includes inferred spans, correlation with profiling, span stack traces, and auto-detection of service and cloud resources. Users can use the Elastic distribution directly or use Elastic's extensions with the vanilla OTel Java agent or OTel Java SDK. Elastic is committed to contributing to the OpenTelemetry Java project and plans to add more features in the future.
