# iOS 17.4 Update Ends PWA Support in the European Union

## Summary

The latest iOS 17.4 update removed Progressive Web App (PWA) support in the European Union due to security challenges and compliance with the Digital Markets Act (DMA). Web apps can still be used through bookmarks on the Home Screen but will lack certain functionalities like offline support and notifications.

> To be honest this isn't cool at all. Apple needs to reduce the 30% to 15% or less bring back PWA support.   The only reason companies want to use other methods of payment systems is due to the 30% charge. If apple only charged maybe 10% it would even reduce the need to use 3rd party payment systems who knows.  We need more developers to chime in and share their thoughts
