German startup Isar Aerospace has closed a €270M Series D round, bringing total funding to ~€870M. The capital will fund a 40,000 sqm factory near Munich capable of producing 40 Spectrum rockets per year, a second launchpad at Spaceport Nova Scotia in Canada, and an order book already stretching to 2028. The company's Spectrum rocket has yet to reach orbit — its first attempt in March 2025 lasted under 30 seconds, and a qualification flight has been scrubbed three times. A fourth launch window opens June 15. Defence-related demand now accounts for ~60% of Isar's pipeline, reflecting Europe's push for sovereign space access amid geopolitical tensions.
