The Istio project has announced results of its 2026 Technical Oversight Committee election, in which three incumbent members were re-elected to two-year terms out of four candidates. The election followed the governance system established in 2024, which allocates three of six TOC seats to annual elections. The Steering Committee thanked all candidates and highlighted continuity in the project's architectural direction, security model, and ambient mesh strategy.
