Italian financial police (Guardia di Finanza) dismantled CINEMAGOAL, a piracy app that streamed content from Sky, DAZN, Netflix, Disney+, and Spotify by decrypting live streams using credentials from fictitious but legitimate subscriber accounts. Virtual machines refreshed subscription codes every three minutes and relayed them to paying users, with no traceable IP tied to viewing sessions. Over 100 searches were conducted across Italy, France, and Germany via Eurojust. More than 70 resellers sold annual subscriptions for €40–€130, taking payment in cryptocurrency. Estimated damages stand at around €300 million. The first 1,000 identified subscribers face administrative fines, and charges include audiovisual piracy, unauthorized computer access, and computer fraud.
