Virtual machines refreshed subscription codes every three minutes and relayed them to paying users, with no traceable IP tied to viewing sessions. Over 100 searches were conducted across Italy, France, and Germany via Eurojust. More than 70 resellers sold annual subscriptions for €40–€130, taking payment in cryptocurrency. Estimated damages stand at around €300 million.
