Jailbroken Kindles can now do more with Tailscale

Community developers have expanded Tailscale's capabilities on jailbroken Kindle e-readers. Key additions include Tailscale SSH enabled by default, a proxy mode (SOCKS5 and HTTP CONNECT) that lets apps like KOReader reach other tailnet nodes such as Calibre or Wallabag servers, and full TUN mode support on select devices. A separate KOReader plugin by Victoria Riley Barnett also brings Tailscale proxy support to Kobo and PocketBook devices. Setup involves configuring KOReader to route through local proxy addresses (127.0.0.1:1055 or :1056), enabling use cases like self-hosted ebook servers, RSS feeds, and Audiobookshelf — all over a private tailnet.
