Jaroslav Reznik, a long-time Fedora contributor and Red Hat Program Manager, discusses the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and its implications for open source. The CRA is the first legislation to formally acknowledge open source software, and thanks to community advocacy, non-commercialised community projects are fully exempt. Fedora's program management team is building a stewardship governance model around the regulation. Reznik will present and run a hands-on CRA workshop at Flock to Fedora 2026 in Prague (June 14–16) alongside Roman Zhukov.
