JMathAnim is a JavaFX-based Java library created by mathematician David Gutierrez that enables developers and educators to build animated mathematical visualizations and export them to video. Inspired by Python's Manim library and channels like 3Blue1Brown, it supports LaTeX formula animation, geometric visualizations, fractals, and number theory demos. The tool includes a built-in code editor with Ruby scripting, syntax highlighting via RSyntaxTextArea, LaTeX rendering via JLatexMath, and video export via JavaCV. Gutierrez built it during COVID lockdown without a formal software engineering background, demonstrating that JavaFX is approachable enough for domain experts outside traditional development.
