## Content

How want to jump on the Jev train might be too late for now but what if i tell you, there is an alternative and for the european folks out there, even GDPR compliant? Just use [laya-api.de](http://laya-api.de) instead which is free to use for now. [https://bhp-solutions.de/blog/jev-api-alternative](https://bhp-solutions.de/blog/jev-api-alternative)

> Laya is impressive, but it's optimal context is 512 tokens. The decoder itself supports up to 8k, but my testing shows it's quality falls off a cliff when more than 512. Up to 2k is kind of okay, but I wouldn't use it for any actionable decisions that are important. YMMV.

> I am not sure how you are affiliated with this company but if yes... They are still using "[hello@example.com](mailto:hello@example.com)" as their email in the contact form and the footer. Maybe they want to change it away from the one in the website template.

> What happened to Jev could happen to Laya any any other model. They either close sign ups to keep up with the demand or the service goes down.
