Candy Crush developer King has rejected a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with Swedish trade unions Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer after nearly a year of negotiations. King president Todd Green cited the company's existing benefits package — including pensions, long-term sick pay, private health insurance, and parental leave — as superior to what a CBA would provide, and argued that adopting one would require significant operational changes. Unionen expressed disappointment, noting strong union engagement among King employees. King's parent company Activision is a Microsoft subsidiary, and several other Microsoft-owned studios have unionized since 2022, including Raven Software, Bethesda Game Studios, and various Blizzard and Activision teams.
