Klaviyo has acquired Agency, a three-year-old AI-powered customer success startup founded by serial entrepreneur Elias Torres, for undisclosed terms. Agency had raised $32 million from Sequoia, Menlo Ventures, and Felicis. Torres will join Klaviyo as Chief Product Officer, leading Agency's 25-person team to expand Klaviyo's AI agents — Composer (marketing campaigns) and Customer Agent (post-sale support). The deal has a personal dimension: Torres hired Klaviyo CEO Andrew Bialecki at Performable in 2010, mentored him, and later backed Klaviyo's seed round as an angel investor. Klaviyo aims to bring its AI agents to 200,000 businesses and beyond, betting that its deep customer data gives it an edge over competitors like Decagon and Sierra.
