JetBrains has released Koog 1.0, its open-source AI agent framework for Kotlin and Java. The 1.0 release commits to API stability with a one-year no-breaking-changes guarantee for stable modules. Key additions include local Android AI via LiteRT model support, a redesigned Java interop layer, decoupled HTTP transport, OpenTelemetry observability across Kotlin Multiplatform targets, improved persistence and memory for long-running agents, and Anthropic prompt caching support to reduce latency and token costs.
