# Launching Interop 2026

## Summary

Interop 2026 is a cross-browser initiative by Apple, Google, Igalia, Microsoft, and Mozilla to improve web compatibility. After Interop 2025 raised the overall score from 25 to 95 and brought features like View Transitions and CSS Anchor Positioning cross-browser, the 2026 focus includes 20 areas: new features like cross-document View Transitions, scroll-driven animations, WebTransport, CSS container style queries, and scoped custom element registries, plus reliability improvements for existing features like CSS scroll snap, WebRTC, and the Navigation API. Four investigation areas cover accessibility testing, mobile testing, JPEG XL, and WebVTT.
