Cisco announced new capabilities in Cyber Vision at Cisco Live Americas 2026, targeting operational technology (OT) security in industrial environments. The update introduces auto-policy recommendations that suggest segmentation rules based on observed asset traffic, plus a simulation mode that lets teams preview policy impact before enforcement — eliminating risky blind deployments. Enforcement runs directly on Cisco's IE3500 and IE9300 industrial switches via on-chip ASICs, removing the need for extra appliances. Secure remote access is now embedded into the same switches, enabling least-privilege, zero-trust access for operators and vendors without separate VPNs or jump hosts. The announcement is framed around the accelerating threat from AI-powered exploit tools like Anthropic's Mythos, which can find and exploit vulnerabilities in hours versus the typical 20-day enterprise patch cycle.
