Less Dashboards. More Robots. Railway, for Agents.

Railway has launched an agent-first developer experience designed to let AI coding agents deploy, configure, and debug full-stack applications without touching a dashboard. A single install command sets up the Railway CLI, MCP server configurations, and agent skills in one shot. The agent skills use a route-first approach, loading only relevant workflow references based on the task at hand. The CLI has been reworked with JSON output, non-interactive flags, and explicit scoping so agents never hang on prompts. Two MCP paths are offered: a CLI-based local MCP and a Remote OAuth MCP at mcp.railway.com, with the old NPM-based server being deprecated. Safety guardrails include staged changesets, destructive-action hints, 48-hour soft deletes, and workspace-level deployment policies to prevent agents from making irreversible mistakes.
