Vibe coding produces technically correct but structurally incomplete code that lacks authentication, error handling, observability, security controls, and regulatory traceability. These gaps become critical when prototypes move to production. A remediation framework called agentic engineering is proposed: reverse-engineer the spec, audit the production gap systematically, write behavioral tests first, use AI tools with full specification context, and validate across model versions. The post also covers how to raise the production gap as a process issue within a team without blame, and argues that platform-level infrastructure (auth, deployment, observability) should be solved once rather than re-implemented per project.
