Linux 7.2 brings several power management updates: CPUFreq scaling support is added for the Qualcomm Shikra/QCM2390 SoC targeting IoT/embedded devices, while the AMD Elan SC4 CPUFreq driver is removed as part of the broader i486 and legacy AMD Elan hardware phase-out. LZ4 compression is now selectable as a hibernation option in Kconfig. On the thermal side, Intel Arrow Lake CPU models gain support in the intel_tcc_cooling driver, and new thermal sensor support lands for SpacemiT K1 and NXP i.MX96. The ACPI pull includes CPPC v4 support contributed by NVIDIA for their Vera CPU.
