CPPC v4, defined in ACPI 6.6, adds two new optional features: an OSPM Nominal Performance register allowing the OS to signal what it considers nominal performance (with anything above treated as boost and below as throttle), and a Resource Priority mechanism for setting relative processor priority for shared resources like cache and memory bandwidth. The patch is now in the linux-pm.git linux-next branch and is expected to land in the Linux 7.2 merge window.
