The Linux Foundation's July 2026 newsletter covers a wide range of open source community news. Highlights include a training promotion with up to 40% off certifications, KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Japan in Yokohama (July 28-30), and the launch of several new foundations and initiatives: x402 for AI agent payments, Open Health Stack, Akrites for defending open source against AI-enabled threats, and Agent Name Service for trusted AI identity. FINOS and major financial institutions announced intent to form OSERA for open source security remediation. The Model Context Protocol (MCP) marked its Enterprise-Managed Authorization feature as stable, and the first MCP certification (MCPA) was introduced.
