LitmusChaos Q1-Q2 2026 update: community, contributions, and project progress

LitmusChaos shipped six releases in H1 2026 (versions 3.25.0–3.30.0), growing its contributor base by 16% to 279 contributors and GitHub stars by 7.4% to 5,496. Key release highlights include Prometheus metrics support, a CVE patch (CVE-2026-33186), job targeting for chaos experiments, and ongoing security hardening. Canonical joined as an official adopter, integrating LitmusChaos into the Juju ecosystem. The biggest milestone was Flipkart winning the CNCF End User Case Study Contest and earning a KubeCon India keynote, where they detailed their multi-tenant chaos platform built on LitmusChaos with four custom extensions. The community also hosted three Resilience Testing meetups in Bangalore and introduced a Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration for natural-language interaction with chaos engineering workflows.
